Fort Nelson to limit traffic in some neighbourhoods on Halloween

Some Fort Nelson neighbourhoods will have limited road access on Halloween evening as the community looks to make trick-or-treating safer for children and families.

The temporary restrictions will be in place Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The affected areas include the RL Angus and Minnaker subdivisions, along with Hallmark Crescent and Heritage Crescent.

Local traffic will still be permitted to enter and exit the areas, as will drivers with accessible parking placards. Exemptions will also be available for residents with physical or accessibility limitations.

Residents are encouraged to park at nearby schools or on adjacent streets if they need to access the affected neighbourhoods.

The restrictions are intended to reduce traffic congestion and create a safer, more enjoyable Halloween experience for trick-or-treaters.

Organizers said they appreciate residents’ understanding and cooperation in helping make the evening safe and inclusive for everyone.
