A wildfire in Northern Rocky Mountains Park has grown to 21 hectares and is now classified as out of control.

The fire was discovered Sept. 29 near Creham Creek and Muskwa Junction, about 43 kilometres northwest of Trutch and 90 kilometres southwest of Fort Nelson.

The suspected cause of the fire is listed as human activity.

The blaze is burning near the Elisi Spa & Wilderness Resort, although the property is currently closed for the season, according to the resort’s owner.

As of Thursday, the BC Wildfire Service had advised the owner that crews would continue monitoring the situation.
