A woman referenced in recent social media posts has been safely located according to Northern Rockies RCMP.

Police said it received a request on Sunday at about 9:00 p.m. to check on the wellbeing of a woman near Liard Hot Springs.

Mounties added officers determined she already left the campground shortly after receiving the report and were actively working to locate her.

On Monday, police located the woman and confirmed she is safe and well.

Officers also clarified the woman was not kidnapped despite information circulating on social media.

Mounties ask anyone who has shared her name or photo consider removing it to respect the person’s privacy.
