A single-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck closed part of the Alaska Highway early Monday morning, but DriveBC said the area at kilometre 605 will periodically reopen.
The 35 click closure begins 50 kilometres north of Fort Nelson at Tofte Mainline and reaches Recreation Road. Traffic flow in both directions will be impacted.
“There will be intermittent closures,” according to Drive B.C., who says drivers headed that way “should expect delays of up to two hours at a time.”
The incident is still categorized as major by the provincial road-condition monitor, which said it will continue providing updates as they become available. The next update is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST tonight.
