Information sought after ‘multiple suspicious fires’ at tow lot

Police are investigating a suspicious fire in Fort Nelson after another questionable incident at a towing company’s 44 Avenue location this past weekend.

The Northern Rockies RCMP said they were alerted to the fire at On-It Towing and Recovery’s parking lot in Fort Nelson early on the morning of Sat Sept 27.

“When the fire department arrived on scene multiple vehicles inside a gated compound of On-It Towing were engulfed in flames,” said the Mounties. Officers said they located evidence at the scene which was “consistent with intentional lit fires,” but did not say what was found.

Police stated On-It Towing has experienced “multiple suspicious fires over the past 16 months,” including in June of 2024. On that late summer night, around 1 a.m., a car and tow truck in its secure lot were set on fire.

Anyone with information about this fire, or any of the past fires at On-It Towing, is urged to contact the RCMP’s Northern Rockies detachment.
